Dear brother
         I will try and
answer your letter which
I received a week a go.
I would of wrote sooner but
I have been some what
sick.  and I have put
It of on that account
I ant verry well now
nor I hant been since
I started on this trip
but I think I will
be all right a gain
Jasper I don't know
of anything new to tell
you  this morning every-
thing is perfectly quiet
here we cant hear of
anything, we only get
mail here twice a month
It so unraglar that we
cant tell when there is
anything going on
I think It depends altogether
on the army on the patomac
before we have peace here
but I cant hear of any
thing here I know this
that this state is well
cleaned out
   I think Lewis Wellman
in good business he is
going to have one a comeing
when he gets home
he ant a going to do as
he has been, he is going to have
something to go to bed two
when he goes home
the boys here in our Reg
marries down here and send
them up home
   you knew Henry Keith
he married at Helena
and sent her up the River
   I think I will
Mary here at Little
Stove there is a
good many here and
good looking ones two
Jasper I got a letter
from James Amermasi
when I got yours and
all he wrote me
was that they was all
well and that all
I new a bout them
and It was the first
one I had from him
for three months
   well I will close
for the present
write soon if you please

Self for the army
is a hard place to
